"Thank you" is not just a word. Thank you, it's faith. Not mere faith, but recognition of all the foundations of faith. Thankfulness is the profound truth. Thanksgiving is humility and submission.
Thanks are fundamental politeness. Thanksgiving is also "the delight of the world to come," which will fill our whole being, and satisfy all our desires in the eternal world.
The merit of saying "Thank you" and singing in this world is the most beautiful and the greatest gift that the Creator of the world has given us.
It is worth repeating constantly:
every day of our lives, we are ultimately all hitchhikers and guests at the table set by the Creator of the world in His infinite goodness, where we receive glorious gifts from His large and generously open hand. The first present is life itself and everyone receives many other additional gifts, such as a roof to shelter, bread to live on, a garment to wear. These are not obvious things: it is pure goodness and a free gift. In addition to all this, we lovingly received the precious jewels of the Torah, the precepts and all the holy objects. The only feelings we should have are great shame towards the Creator, in addition to immense joy and deep gratitude.
Instead of thinking all day about what I'm missing, we should rather ask ourselves "What thanks do I owe to the Creator of the world for everything that belongs to me, for every second of my life?".
We must feel at all times how obligated we are to thank the Creator of the world, and understand that we have only one lack in our life: "Not having said enough praise yet!"
Thanksgiving is the reparation of the world precisely because it leads man to genuine gratitude, to pure faith and to the feeling that it is he who is indebted to the Creator and not the other way around. This is what causes all deliverances and wonders.
The greatest deliverances consist for man in living the truth and the reality that Hashem owes him nothing, and that no one owes him anything: his life is then sweet, peaceful, joyful and happy.
It is the foundation of happiness and stability, it is the basis of all good human relations and household peace.
