This Torah anthology is the work of one of the most illustrious Sephardic sages of the early 18th century, Rabbi Yaacov COULI. The latter called it Meam Loez and published it in 1730. The impact of this commentary was such that it changed the spiritual climate of the Jewish communities of the Mediterranean basin.
Considered a classic, this work is put on the same level as the Talmud and the Mishnah.
Many consider Meam Loez among the best Torah commentaries ever written. This anthology is a veritable encyclopedia of Judaism.
